Reflection on the pharmaceutical chemist in pharmacy.
What is the pharmaceutical chemist doing in a community pharmacy?
The pharmacist as a health professional has to ensure the correct dispensing of medicines and especially the pharmaceutical care in the pharmacy. But the most important thing is to make people aware of the importance of the correct use of medicines and to make them aware of the risks of irresponsible consumption, and this is achieved thanks to the pharmaceutical care that we provide as professionals.
The professional Chemist Pharmacist has the task of supervising all the dispensing of medicines and in this way protect the health of the population (guidance on therapy, clarifying dosage, posology, storage, interactions, among others).
However, in most pharmacies the pharmacist has a more administrative and pharmaceutical management role. This has been a bit of a handicap for us since we are studying to be health professionals.
Well, this is what I wanted to share with you today.
As a student of pharmacy we must try to change these things in the community pharmacy, especially the chain pharmacy, so that in the near future the pharmacy will be seen more as a health centre than a commercial one.
See you next week. Bye.
